Cast: Hope Littwin, Jenna Lyle, Katie Mazzini
The work will be an exploration in sound, movement and visual imagery of the labor movement, sprung from the industrial revolution before the turn of the century in America and Europe in conflagration with our current state of global labor structures, commodity, and trade. Focusing on sonic landscapes and movement associated with modern trends of labor and how technology developed to increase efficiency has affected worker and end user alike, 3 Singers will explore the dilemmas of textile workers from three different time periods by taking three female vocalists on a journey that melds symbols, sights and sounds from all three eras.
This work will be developed through residencies at The Reva and David Logan Center for the Arts, University of Chicago, Ingenuity Fest Lab Artist Program, and Cricoteka and is scheduled to premiere in Autumn, 2014.
