Choreographer Marissa Alma Nick's latest creation,"A Rebel In Venus", shines a light on the powerful (and sometimes discounted) voice of the millennial generation and their response to the current #metoo and #timesup movements. The fresh and vibrant performance enumerates dehumanizing sexual censorships in America today through the lens of sex-positive feminism, and attempts to re-define the iconic goddess figure known as Venus. “A Rebel In Venus” is an extension of the pro-sex movement that marches in SLUT WALKS and screams out PUSSY GRABS BACK. It re-creates a youthful conversation (through dance) about how to view girls and women as fully human, and most importantly: agents of our own sexuality.
