Self authorship is a powerful balm to the mental health crisis that is rampant on campus. Songwriting is an excellent tool to practice agency over your story. Offering beautiful treatment and craft to your lived experience via song is a powerful practice that leaves people with a new sense of confidence in their emotional well being, awareness of the power of their story and an heirloom to share with others and generations to come.

Sanctuary Studios is an artistic home where songwriters, composers and creatives can unleash their creativity and write, record, produce and release their work in a supportive, safe, challenging and encouraging environment.

I created Sanctuary Studios after working for 18 + years in professional studios, academic music conservatories, home studios, laptops on trains, professional theater companies, songwriter circles, etc., to cultivate a place and practice that nurtures creatives as they grow in authenticity and excellence.

Musicians are valuable treasures to society and deserve a safe and encouraging space to excavate their work, uncover their story and share it with others.

Sanctuary studios offers classes with a small cohort of creators and 1:1 artist development

In the small, specialized group courses, your cohort creates a special bond that ignites creativity and encourages you to go beyond typical hesitation points in your own writing. Instructional course videos included in the program guide you through techniques and practices of writing, arranging, recording and mixing. They are valuable and offer a firm foundation in practical skill sets, but it is the group dynamic and energy that has shown over and over again to be the most powerful igniter in encouraging artists and their visions toward completed albums and projects.

For those who want 1:1 guidance I offer collaborative sessions to focus intently on your work. 

My goal is to help producers unlock their own agency.  I will foster the confidence that leads to self authorship of your story and and realization of  your vision

As a guide and a practitioner, I take this work as a sacred mission and consider it one of the most profound blessings of my life to create and share this space and knowledge.

Hi, I’m Hope Littwin. I work with students of all ages and skill levels. I teach guitar, piano, and electronic music (ableton and logic).

I was classically trained as a singer and composer in conservatory and have a masters in composition. I recently performed with Andrea Bocelli at Madison Square Garden before going on a West Coast tour, performing my music as a singer/songwriter.
